Maryland Women’s Business Center

adjMWBC_164x91I’ve recently been invited to do pro bono business counseling and training at the Maryland Women’s Business Center (MWBC). I’m excited to work with women who are starting out as entrepreneurs. Of course, the advice and training is open to men. And, the services are available to those who reside in Virginia, too. But for me the best part is to work with people who are involved in creating something new.

The mission at MWBC is to help the diverse population of Montgomery County “start and grow women-owned enterprises in our community.” Sounds good to me. And their special initiatives include a Childcare Business Development Program and the StartRight! Annual Business Plan Competition.

The training includes workshops on ways to Grow Your Business with Email and Social Media, the ABC’s of Starting a Business, and QuickBooks Online. You can also meet with business counselors to discuss your ideas. I’ll be doing business counseling and QuickBooks training.

I hope to see you there!
